Nanakmatta is located at a distance of about 56 km away from Rudrapur on the Rudrapur - Tanakpur road. Nanakmatta has been given finances under district plan. Nanakmatta is a great pilgrimage centre of Sikh religion due to the Gurudwara. Guru Nanak, the Sikh Guru also visited this place. Thousands of pilgrims visit Nanakmatta throughout the year. There is also a beautiful picnic spot in Nanakmatta which is known as the Nanak Sagar dam. The Nanak Sagar Dam has been built over the Saryu river. Boating and fish catching are allowed at the Nanak Sagar Dam. The serene lake water reflecting the clear sky is a breathtaking sight.
