Coonoor Coonoor is a pretty hill town located at a distance of about 19 kms from Ooty. Conoor is located amidst tea gardens. In 1874, the Sims Park was established. This park has fine lawns and a collection of rare plants and trees picturesquely located along a steep slope. The scenic waterfalls like the Law's Falls and St. Catherine Falls and fine vantage points with breathtaking views and amusing names like Lamb's rock, Dolphin's Nose and Lady Canning's Seat are the popular picnic spots in Coonoor.
Kalhatti Falls Kalhatti Falls are the picturesque waterfalls which are located at a distance of about 14 kms from Ooty. These waterfalls come down a 36 m drop. It is a popular spot for picnics and treks.

	Mukurthi Peak and Mukurthi National Park Mukurthi national park is located on the south-eastern part of the Nilgiri plateau. This national park is known for its population of Nilgiri Tahr. Pykara The grassy meadows around Pykara Dam and reservoir are popular among the various tourists. Avalanchi A calm lake is surrounded by forests in the Avalanchi.
Kotagiri Kotagiri is the little hill station which is about 29 kms. from Ooty. This hill station offers a quiet retreat in the beautiful surroundings. The major attractions in Kotagiri are the Kodanad View point, Rangaswamy pillar and peak.
