          The 
          Government Museum, Bharatpur is situated inside the historic Lohagarh 
          Fort, this museum displays a rich collection of archaeological wealth 
          of Bharatpur. The Kachahri Kalan and Kamara Khas buildings built 
          during the reign of Maharaja Balwant Singh in first half of 19th 
          century A.D. Sculptures and other exhibits were collected from various 
          places of the region and initially displayed in Public Library under 
          the support of H.H Maharaja Sawai Brijendra Singh in 1939. In 1944 
          A.D, these were shifted to the present building of Kachahri Kalan, 
          This museum was opened for public on 11th Nov, 1944. 
          
          This 
          museum exhibits a unique and large collection of coins, weapons, 
          decorative art objects, sculptures, arms, inscriptions etc. This 
          museum houses above 4000 antiquities. The building inside which this 
          museum is located is a wonderful example of artistic beauty. Bharatpur 
          government museum also displays some of the most distinctive 
          archaeological resources and antiquated artifacts. The government 
          museum of Bharatpur is the abode of ancient souvenirs which are of 
          rare quality. This museum was a large building known as Kachahri Kalan 
          in the beginning. It was the section of the rulers of the district of 
          Bharatpur. Afterwards, in 1944 A.D Kachahari Kalan was converted into 
          a government museum.  
          
          Kamra Khas 
          or the personal block of the Bharatpur Rajas became a main part of the 
          museum. This museum truly depicts the glory and richness of the Kings 
          of Bharatpur. Important exhibits and souvenirs of the museum very well 
          maintained and protected properly inside the museum.  
          
          Bharatpur 
          Museum is very lavishly decorated with many precious statues which 
          were discovered during the archaeological excavation of old villages 
          of Mailah, Bayana, Noh and Bareh. This museum is one of the prominent 
          tourist attractions of Bharatpur. Tourists coming from any part of the 
          world are very much attracted by the beauty of the museum.
