During the East India Tour with Wildlife we visit the eastern part of India and some wildlife sanctuaries and national park. East India is so full of diversity which is otherwise very difficult to experience. Within its area East India encapsulates some of the most striking contrasts in the sub-continent. 
 

Day 01. Flight to India (Kolkata)
Around midnight arrival in Kolkata. In the morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta). Kolkata is India’s largest city and one of the biggest cities in south Asia. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day 02. Kolkata - Dibrugarh (by air)
Today transfer to airport for flight to Dibrugarh. Upon arrival in Dibrugarh you will be transfer to
Hotel.

Day 03. Dibrugarh - Mon (about 160 km / 5 hrs)
Drive to Mon.
Mon is the district headquarter of Mon district and situated at an altitude of 897.64 meters above sea level. It is the home of the Konyaks tribes. It is interesting to see the tattooed faces people wearing feathered headgears and traditional dress. Konyaks are adapt artisans and skilled craftsmen. Here you can find excellent wood carvings, daos (Machetes), guns, gunpowder, headgears.

Day 04. Mon
In the morning visit typical Konyak tribal village, Shangnyu.
Shangyu was ruled by the chief Angh, and one of the prominent village of the Mon District. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8 feet in height and 12 feet in breadth which is believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. The carvings of human beings and other creatures are engraved on this monument. Today, you can also visit the Konyak Murungs, where one can still see the collection of human skulls (This cannot be guaranteed, depends upon the village headman). Konyaks, like other Nagas were head hunters in the olden days and used to keep the enemies head as a trophy.

Day 05. Mon - Mokokchung (about 200 kms / 7 hrs)
After breakfast drive to
Mokokchung, the district headquarters situated at an altitude of 1325 meters above sea level. This picturesque town is the cultural centre of the AO Nagas. The AO warriors used to wear the beautiful black and red handwoven shawl with its white decorated band to signify their power over their enemies. The two main festivals of AO's are Moatsu in early May and Tsungremmong in August.

Day 06. Mokokchung - Kohima (about 160 km / 6 hrs)
After having breakfast drive to Kohima.
Kohima is the capital of Nagaland and the hill station which is situated at an altitude of 1444 meters above sea lavel. In the evening reach Kohima.

Day 07. Kohima
After breakfast visit the Khonoma, an Angami tribal village, about 20 kms. towards the west of Kohima. The
Khonoma village has its own traditions of valour and courage. The history reveals that Khonoma provided protection to several villages in good old days. The village gate tells the story of the British infiltration into Naga Hills. In Kohima, visit the War Cemetry. War Cemetry is a symbolic memorial raised as citation for the supreme sacrifices made by the officers and man during the Second World War. The state Musuem treasures rare collection of articles of different tribes which speak about the history and tradition of the Nagas. In Nagaland, also visit the local market.

Day 08. Kohima - Kaziranga National Park (about 220 km / 5 hrs)
In the morning proceed to Kaziranga National Park. We will come across the forest-covered hills, small villages, low- lying fields with stands of coconut palms and tea estates before we reach Kaziranga National park. Kaziranga was declared a game sanctuary in the year 1908, to save the Indian one-horned rhino. Today it is a World Heritage Site National Park. It covers an area of 430 square km core area with buffer zones all around it. We will also see Wild Buffalo, Bison, Sambar, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Wild Pig, Hoolock Gibbon, Elephants and Tiger.

Day 09. Kaziranga National Park
In the morning we have an elephant ride in the Kaziranga National Park. Elephants help to come very close to the wildlife. In Kaziranga we will watch the activities of various animals like Bison, Deer, Tigers, Elephants. Evening free for leisure.

Day 10. Kaziranga National Park - Nameri National Park (about 120 km / 3 hrs)
In the morning we proceed towards the Brahmaputra river to view Dolphins by boat. Then we will drive further to visit the Nameri National Park. It was declared as a national park in the year 1998.This Park lies near Tezpur, Assam. It covers an area of around 213 square km. Nameri National Park sprawls across wild dense forests on the foothills of the eastern Himalayas. Its hilly backdrop and thick evergreen trees and rivers make a very beautiful landscape. Various animals like Tiger, Elephant, Leopard, Gaur, Pangolin, Indian Wild Dog, Civet Cat, Capped Langur, Jackal, Barking Deer and Wild Boar can be seen. Along with abundant wildlife, this park is a heaven for birdwatchers harboring the endangered White Winged Duck, four species of Hornbill, Scarlet Minivet, Collared Falconet and Ibisbull etc.

Day 11. Nameri National Park - Orang Wildlife Sanctuary
In the morning, from Nameri we will proceed to visit the Orang Wildlife Sanctuary. This park is situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, covering an area of 72 square km. Orang is a mini Kaziranga. This park is famous for its natural scenic beauty that snatches the attention of its visitors. This park has a very dense population of Tiger. This park also has the Great Indian One Horned Rhino, about 45-60 Bengal Florican, Blind Gangetic Dolphin, Indian Pangolin, Rhesus Macaque, Bengal Porcupine, Indian Fox, Small Indian Civet, Otter, Leopard cats and Fishing cats.

Day 12. Orang Wildlife Sanctuary - Guwahati
In the morning from Orang Sanctuary we will drive to Guwahati. The rest of the day at leisure.

Day 13. Guwahati - Kolkata (by air)
Today having breakfast and transfer to airport for flight to Kolkata. 

Day 14. Flight Back Home
Around midnight flight to home destination.
