India and Nepal have created national parks. Even Bhutan as a small country has declared approximately one fifty of its total area to be a natural reserve for wildlife. In India, 25,000 sq km were considered in the year 1973 for Project Tiger. India alone is having 250 reserves in total. Elephants are both the most fascination and economically important mammals. One of the distinctive features of Indian elephants is that only the male Elephants bears tusks. There are approximately 6,500 elephants living in the wild in northern West Bengal, Assam and Bhutan. Forest departments of Indian and Bhutan have planed new elephant reserves on the borders of Bhutan and India. As visitors to India, Nepal and Bhutan you would very rarely see snakes. Snakes are common to site in the countryside. There are over 200 different species of snakes alone. Most of the snakes found in these countries are not poisonous.
