Ladakh trekking tour will begin in the high altitude meadows of Rangrik. The trekking will descends the Kibber gorge and then climbs the Parang La Pass (5600 m), the source of the Pare Chu river, the only one of its kind to have its source in India. Ladakh trekking tour is a challenging trek for the enthusiastic walker in one of the more spectacular areas of Ladakh which has been recently opened for tourism.

Day 01: New Delhi
Around midnight arrival in New
Delhi. New Delhi is the cosmopolitan city and capital and is also the main gateway for travellers to India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day 02: New Delhi
In the morning have sightseeing in Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "
Rajghat", the site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, Jama Masjid and the great mosque of old Delhi. Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb" which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India and "Kutub Minar". Before we proceed to the hotel we drive through New Delhi where we will visit the India Gate, Government buildings and Embassies.

Day 03: New Delhi - Kullu (by air) - Manali
In the morning from New Delhi we will drive to airport for the flight to Kullu. Upon arrival in Kullu you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and then drive further to Manali. Manali, nestled on the foot of the giant Rohtang Jot and on the bank of the Beas River, is an evergreen area with Pine and Deodar trees surrounding the town. It is also known as Switzerland of India. Upon arrival in Manali, you will be transferred to the hotel. In the evening we visit the mall, the markets and the Hidimba temple.

Day 04: Manali - Rohtang Pass - Chhatru (about 79 km)
In the morning from Manali after having breakfast we drive further to Rohtang pass which offers some great views of the Pir Panjal range. In the way we will come across some scenic views of snow covered peaks and glaciers. As we drive further we will come across the change in vegetation. The tree line seems to be getting away from us making way for small bushes. We are in the foothills of the Pir Panjal range. So now we will drive into the Lahaul valley and reach Chhatru by afternoon. We have an overnight stay in Chhatru.

Day 05: Chhatru - Takcha (about 62 km)
Today we drive up the valley of the Chandra river to Batal, from where we begin the climb to the Kunzum pass (4570 meters) which separates the Lahaul valley from the Spiti valley. Spectacular views of the Chandrabhaga range of mountains are possible from the top of the pass. We continue down into the Spiti valley at a large meadow at the base of the pass at Takcha. We have an overnight stay in Takcha. 

Day 06: Takcha - Losar - Rangrik (about 52 km)
Today after having breakfast we drive to the Losar village, the first village in Spiti from this direction and continue to the nunnery at Pangmo village. This is a very beautiful drive with mud towers rising hundreds of feet out of the river valley below. We reach a large riverside campsite after Rangrik village where we have an overnight stay. 

Day 07: Rangrik - Kibber - Karzok
Today we start our trekking tour from Rangrik. First of all from Rangrik we walk over the Parang La pass to the banks of the Tso Moriri, at Karzok. By the evening we will arrive in Karzok and have an overnight stay there only.

Day 08: Karzok
Today we visit the Changpa campsites on a large meadow above Karzok. We spend the day by watching nomadic people and then return to Karzok by the afternoon. We have another overnight stay in Karzok. 

Day 09: Karzok - Mahe - Leh (about 226 km)
Today we drive back to Leh. Enroute stop at Mahe Bridge from where the road crosses to the south bank of the river and travel along the Indus River valley to Leh by the afternoon. Upon arrival in Leh, you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 10: Leh Excursion (Thikse, Shey, Hemis)
Today we start our excursion by visiting the monastery of Thikse. Thikse is one of the most imposing monastery in Ladakh. The monastery has 12 stories, 10 temples, a nunnery and 60 lamas in residence. It contains numerous stupas, statues, tankhas, wall painting and a large pillar engraved with the teaching of Buddha. We can also see here a collection of Tibetan scripts. After the visit of Thikse we visit the village of Shey on the eastern bank of the Indus. Shey was the royal residence and was located at an important vantage point in the Indus valley. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan kings. A 7.5 metre high copper statue of Buddha plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here. Today we also visit the monastery of Hemis. The rich monastery of Hemis is the biggest in Ladakh and is perched on top of a pleasant green hill surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Every year a colorful famous festival of mask dances takes place in Hemis. This monastery (Gompa) has an important library of Tibetan style books and an impressive collection of tankhas, the largest of which is displayed every 11 years.

Day 11: Leh Excursion (Spituk, Phyang)
Today we start our day by visiting the Spituk monastery. Spituk monastery (15th Century) is 8 km from Leh and is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Indus. Spituk valley has an enormous status of Kali whose face is unveiled once a year during the Spituk festival. This monastery also contains an ancient collection of masks. 135 yellow capped monks resides in this monastery. After the visit of Spituk we shall proceed to the Gompa Phyang which is a traditional monastery setting for a spectacular religious festival with masked dancing. There are 50 red capped monks residing here.

Day 12: Leh - New Delhi (by air)
In the morning transfer to the airport to board flight for New Delhi. Arrival in Delhi in the afternoon. The rest of the day at leisure. Rooms are available to get refresh before departing for the airport.

Day 13: New Delhi
Around midnight flight to home destination.
