Rajasthan and Gujarat Tour is a perfect tour to know about the culture, tradition and lifestyle in the state of Rajasthan and Gujarat. During this tour we visit Delhi, Mathura, Agra, Karauli, Jaipur, Pushkar, Jojawar, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Palitana, Bhavnagar, Mumbai and some parts of Gujarat and North India. The state of Gujarat is known all over the world for its holy temples, historic capitals with immense architectural wealth, wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, hill resorts, fascinating handicrafts and mouth watering cuisine.

Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Around midnight arrival in
Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital Delhi is the main gateway for travelers. Upon arrival, you are met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the Hotel.

Day 02 : Delhi - Mathura (about 150 km)
Today In the morning we have sightseeing in Old Delhi. We take a Rickshaw Ride parallel to the Red Fort through the old city and famous Silk Road and Silver Bazaar. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat", the site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated and Jama Masjid, the great mosque of old Delhi. Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb" which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India and "Qutub Minar". "Qutub Minar" is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work began on this tower which was intended to be the most glorious tower of victory in the world. This tower was damaged twice and repaired in 1326 and 1368. Before we proceed to the Hotel we drive through the embassy area in New Delhi where we visit the India Gate and see some impressive Government Buildings. Later we drive to Mathura. Mathura is a very important religious city of Uttar Pradesh. It is the epicenter of Brajbhoomi, the land of Lord Krishna and lies on the banks of the Yamuna River. Mathura derives its glory & sacred character from being the birth place of Lord Krishna. Through centuries, it has attracted pilgrims from the Hindu, Buddhist and Jains.

Day 03 : Mathura - Agra (about 140 km)
In the morning you will experience the old religious India. Mathura is one of the holy cities in northern India, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In connection with the worship of Krishna It is an important pilgrimage center of Hinduism. The city is located 140 km south of Delhi, 50 km north of Agra, and is located east of the Yamuna, which flows into the Ganges. After an extensive tour we leave Mathura and proceed towards Agra. On the way to Agra we known the tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar "Sikandra". In the afternoon the Red Fort of Agra. The plant on the banks of river Yamuna impressed by his sumptuously appointed audience halls, mosques, ornate private rooms and shelters. Then, the visit of India's most beautiful and famous building Taj Mahal on the program. In the 17th Century Mughal ruler Shah Jahan had the Taj Mahal built as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the 14th at the birth of their Child died. Surrounded by a beautiful garden stands this magnificent monument of love, which is quite rightly counted among the Seven Wonders of the World. We leave the Taj Mahal and its magical atmosphere with a lot of time affect us. Then there is the opportunity to see those artisans at work on the shoulder, its predecessors have made the Taj Mahal with ornate inlaid and mosaic work to a perfect building. Overnight in Agra.

Day 04: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Karauli (about 150 km)
After breakfast drive to Karauli. In the way we visit the Fatehpur Sikri. We stay in a former palace in Karauli. Bhanwar Vilas Palace was the residence in 1938 by Maharaja of Karauli. The architecture of the colonial and the interiors are decorated in the art de-decor period furniture. The spacious grounds are home to a variety of plants and animals.

Day 05: Karauli - Jaipur (about 158 kms)
Today we leave Karauli and drive to the Pink City 
Jaipur. This city owes its name, foundations and careful planning to the great warrior and astronomer, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and famous for its handicrafts and precious and semiprecious stones. In the afternoon arrival in Jaipur. The rest of the day at leisure. BD

Day 06: Jaipur
After breakfast we drive to the ancient capital of Amber, laying 11 km. away from Jaipur. Amber was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries before it was moved to newly created Jaipur. We will ascend to the Palace Fortress on the back of an Elephant. Enroute to Amber we will visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 AD, it contains 953 small casements with each having its own balcony. The windows enabled cool air to circulate and the ladies to watch processions below without being seen. In the afternoon we visit the City Palace that is still the formal residence of the royal family, built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. In the museum of the City Palace we visit the private collection of the Jaipur Maharajas. We continue to Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, and the largest of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Its complex instruments reveal us the secrets of medieval Indian astronomy. Later we have a walk through the colourful Bazaar of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the famous block printing work being done since centuries in Jaipur. In the evening we drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit "Laxmi Narayan Mandir", a Hindu temple made out of white marble. We might have an opportunity here to observe a prayer ceremony.

Day 07: Jaipur - Pushkar - Jojawar  (about 306 kms)
After breakfast we drive towards Pushkar. For the devout Hindus counts this place one of the three holy places of pilgrimage in India. The sacred temple should ever be that of Pushkar, as this is the only temple in the country, the god Brahma was dedicated. In addition, there are over 100 other temples. World famous Pushkar is also famous for its camel and cattle markets, which take place in November at the full moon and a unique experience are ("Pushkar Festival": If the date of this trip fall on the time of Pushkar Festival, Pushkar is one more night planned and the entire trip is extended according to the nearest day)
Our destination for the day Jojawar, a lively village that borders the Aravali Hills. Here we stay in a former palace that has been converted into a heritage hotel.

Day 08: Jojawar - Ranakpur - Udaipur (about 168 km)
On this day, we continue our journey through the Aravali mountain range towards Udaipur. The way we visit the Jain temple of
Ranakpur. Ranakpur is located amidst the Aravali Mountains, one of the oldest mountain chains in the world (about 150 million years old). The main temple of the system is made of marble and has 1444 pillars which are richly decorated with ornaments and figures. Afterwards drive to Udaipur, a city which is idyllically located between the lakes and hills as well as the "city of sunrise" is called. BD

Day 09: Udaipur

Today we visit Udaipur, also known as the city of sunrise. We start our sightseeing with the visit of Sahelion-Ki-Bari. This Garden of the Maids of Honour is well laid out with extensive lawns and shady walks. After the visit of Garden of Maids we visit a Museum of folk art. This museum has a rich collection of Folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments and paintings on display. After a break we visit the City Palace, the biggest Palace in India, where 4 generations of Maharajas added their contribution, is so carefully planned and integrated with the original buildings that it is difficult to believe that it was not conceived as a whole. The museum of the palace includes the beautiful peacock mosaic and miniature wall paintings of Indian mythology. Today we have an opportunity to visit a traditional painting school and see the famous miniature paintings done. In the evening we have a Boat ride on the lake Pichola. The famous Lake Palace of Udaipur was the summer residence of the former rulers. The James bond Film Octopussy was shot here and made this palace more known in the west. BD

Day 10: Udaipur - Dungarpur (about 120 km)

Today we take leave from the City of Lake (Udaipur) and drive to Dungarpur. Dungarpur means a “Hill town” In Dungarpur we enjoy the overnight stay in a Fort which has been converted into a Hotel. We have the rest of the day at leisure and therefore enough time to relax and have a walk in the Bazaar of this. BD


Day 11: Dungarpur - Ahmedabad (about 174 km)
In the morning after having breakfast we move to  drive to
Ahmedabad. On arrival after a short break proceed to visit one of the finest textile museums of the world and also the Gandhi Ashram. BD

Day 12: Ahmedabad - Bhavnagar (about 176 kms)

In the morning after having breakfast we drive to Bhavnagar. Bhavnagar lies in the southeast corner of the Kathiawar peninsula in the Saurashtra plains. Once the capital of a princely state, Bhavnagar is home to several lakes and temples. In the afternoon we visit the Takhteshwar Temple and Gandhi Smriti Museum. Takhteshwar temple is located on a small hillock and provide good views over the city and out into the Gulf of Cambay. Gandhi Smriti Museum is located northeast, by the clock tower and has a good collection of Gandhi memorabilia. In the evening we visit the bazaar in Bhavnagar. BD

Day 13: Bhavnagar - Palitana - Bhavnagar  (about 100 km)
Today we will drive to 
Palitana. Palitana is the gateway to the Shatrunjaya hill and one of the Jainism's holiest pilgrimage sites. There are about 863 temples on the top of the hill, exquisitely carved in marble and built over a span of 900 years. To visit the temples on the Shatrunjaya hill one has to climb 600 m up the hill. So today we will ascend the Shatrunjaya hill either on foot or in Doli or lift chairs. After reaching the top of the hill we will visit the Jain temple. The temple which is dedicated to Shri Adishwara, the first Jain Tirthankara (apostle) is one of the most magnificent temples and the most sacred temple on Shatrunjaya hill. The Muslim shrine of Angar Pir is also situated near the temple. After visiting the temple we will visit the Chaumukha or the four faced temple. It has an image of Adinath facing out in the four cardinal directions. Drive back to Bhavnagar. BD

Day 14: Bhavnagar - Mumbai (By air)
In the noon flight to Mumbai (formerly Bombay). As the last highlight of our tour we enjoy the city tour of Mumbai. Mumbai is the second biggest city of India and is full of contrasts. Mumbai with its temples, cathedrals and mosques is a real cosmopolitan city of India. In Mumbai we have a walk through the harbour area and visit the Gateway of India built in 1927 by English to commemorate the visit of George 5th from England. After the sightseeing of Mumbai we drive to the hotel and get relaxed.

Day 15:Flight to Home
