One of the finest mountain bike tours in the world. You get to visit Himalayas where you discover it - up, close and personal. It is the most scenic (Fun, adventure, Photography, unspoilt nature in abundance combined with human endurance) and popular mountain biking routes. One gets to travel through highest passes in world Rohtang (3980m), Baralacha La (4821m), Nakee La (4870m), Lachulung La (4830m), Tanglang La (5300m and the world second highest motorable road). The road is a mix of tarmac and unmetalled roads. Once you cross into Lahaul valley from Manali, you go past picturesque villages. However, after Darcha, it is all wild and barren country with no permanent villages till you cross Tanglang La closer to Leh. Along the way your challenges include searing hot days, freezing nights and most importantly, high altitude.

How to reach Manali:
Volvo coaches operate overnight between Delhi and Manali. 13 -14 hours comfortable journey, 570 Kms.

Day 1: Manali

Today morning arrival in Manali. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel. Day for acclimatizing and local sightseeing (2 hours)

Day 2 Manali - Marhi (38 Kms) Uphill

Today morning after having breakfast. Today we will begin our mountain biking tour from Manali. From Manali we will bike towards Rallah Falls. We have lunch at Kothi. Then we bike towards Marrhi. Arrive in Marrhi by evening. We will spend night in Marrhi.

Day 3: Marhi - Sissu (45 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Marrhi. We bike Uphill up to Rohtang Pass, which is situated at a height of 3980 m. Rohtang Pass is an adventurer's dream destination, situated at an altitude of about 4000 metres, this pass is the gateway to the Lahual region from Manali.  and then downhill to Sissu.

Day 4: Sissu - Jispa (48 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we have smooth almost level biking (slightly up and down at places) towards Jispa. We will spend night in Jispa.

Day 5: Jispa - Patseo - Zingzing Bar (46 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Jispa. We will start our biking to Patseo and  Zingzing Bar. Uphill and downhill mixdownhill mix Biking.

Day 6: Patseo / Zingzing Bar - Sarchu (55 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we start our biking towards Sarchu. Uphill and downhill mix Biking.

Day 7: Sarchu - Pang (75 Kms) 

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Sarchu .We start our biking towards Pang. Uphill and downhill mix Biking.

Day 8: Pang - Debring/ Tanglang La Base camp (72 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Pang. Slightly uphill and level biking towards Tanglang La Base camp, Debring.

Day 9: Debring/ Tanglang La Base camp - Rumtse (35 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Debring. We start our biking towards Rumtse. Level and downhill mix Biking.

Day 10: Rumtse - Leh (85 Kms)

Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave Rumtse. We start our biking towards Leh. Level and slightly uphill Biking.

  • Any Kind of Personal Expenses such as Monument Tips, Laundry, insurance, Telephone Bills and  Alcoholic beverages.

  • Camera Fees (Still or Movie).

  • Any Flight Charges.

  • Accommodation at Leh.

  • Mountain bike. (You will need to get your own bikes). Bike repair kit (Carry one puncture kit, spare tubes (2 will be good) and a multipurpose repair tool set.

  • Anything which is not included in the inclusions

Note: You will only have to carry your personal knapsack containing water bottle, camera and trail layers.

 

Cycling Tour Gear List:

  • A bike helmet

  • Small day sack to carry trail clothing, Good quality waterproof jacket.

  • Waterproof trousers

  • Sun hat

  • Warm gloves, mountaineering gloves (waterproof outer, fleece inner) are good.

  • Long sleeved shirt

  • Cycling tights (looser, trackster fit rather skin-tight Lycra),
    Shorts

  • Cycle mitts

  • Balaclava (thick fleece)

  • Mid-weight fleece top

  • Tee-shirts (synthetic or merino wool)

  • Travel trousers

  • Long sleeved thermal top

  • Cotton tee-shirt for around town

  • Thermal long johns

  • 2-3 pairs underwear

  • 2-3 pairs of standard socks

  • 1 pair warm sock

  • Cycling shoes, e.g. SPD, if applicable (bring spare cleats)

  • Shoes, Flip-flops, Crocs or Sandals to wear around camp.

  • Dark glasses (the sun is very strong).

  • A couple of spare passport photos photocopies of key documents. e.g., passport etc.
