Robbers Cave
About Robbers Cave

Robber's Cave (locally known as Guchhupani) is a river cave formation which is located about 8 km from the centre of Dehradun City (Uttrakhand, India). The cave is about 600 metres long, divided into two main parts. The cave has a highest fall of about 10 metres. In the central part there is a fort wall structure which is now broken. It consists of an extremely narrow gorge formed in a conglomerate limestone area on Doon Valley's Dehra plateau.

It is a natural cave formation where river flows inside the cave. The place is a popular tourist spot and is now being maintained by Uttrakhand State. Local bus services are available up to Anarwala Village, from where it is a kilometer’s trek away. An ideal place for a picnic, Robber’s Cave is only about 8 Kms away from the City Bus Stand. Local bus services are available upto Anarwala Village, from where it is just a Kilometer’s trek to the spot.

Robber's Cave is situated in Vijaypur near Anarwala village, Dehradun.Local bus facilities are available till Anarwala Village, to reach the spot from here you will have to trek only one kilometer. Best time to visit Robber's Cave is from April to October.

Robber’s Cave is a wonderful spot that lies at the suburban areas of Dehradun, Robber's Cave is a best loved tourist location. Popularly called as Guchhipani or Guchu Pani it is a perfect destination to spend the holiday in a pristine atmosphere.

The cold stream of water is flowing inside the cave travelling through which one can reach the small waterfall inside the Robber’s cave. There are some food shops available where you can enjoy snacks and hot maggi in the cave with your feet submerged in the water stream which really makes the environment very exciting. This will surely give you an experience to remember all your life.

How to reach Robber’s Cave Dehradun

By Rail
Dehradun is a major railway station which is connected to all cities in the country. The major cities like Delhi (Mussoorie Exp), Kolkata (Doon Exp), Varanasi (Ghy Rajdhani), Mumbai (Dehradun Exp) and Indore (Ddn Indb Exp) are connected by express trains and super fast trains.

By Air
Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is a domestic airport located about 20 km away from city center. Taxi cabs are available from airport to city, which cost about Rs 400. The airport operates daily flights to Delhi. Nearest International airport is Delhi, which is about 235 km away and is well connected to cities like London, New York, Paris, Singapore etc.

By Road
All nearby cities are connected to Dehradun by State owned Uttarakhand transport buses. It also connects Kashmere Gate in New Delhi with Dehradun. There are overnight deluxe A/C bus services of Uttarakhand Tourism from New Delhi to Dehradun. A distance of 235 km from Delhi to Dehradun costs about Rs 900 by deluxe bus. Buses can also be hired from Shimla (Rs 1,000) and Chandigarh (Rs 600).

Robber's Cave is only 8 kms away from the Dehradun Bus Stand. Local bus facilities are available till Anarwala Village. To reach the spot from here you will have to trek only one kilometer. This will surely give you an experience to remember all your life.

One can enjoy serenity while walking along the paths on the very lap of the nature. There is absolute silence all over. You can breathe in an air which is devoid of even a hint of pollutants.It is specially the trek which attracts people more towards a trip to Robber's Cave.
