          Balotra is a small town which is situated in Barmer District of 
          Rajasthan state in India. It is about 110 kms from city of Jodhpur. 
          Balotra is famous for textile industry, hand block printing and for an 
          annual desert and ethnic fair at Tilwara. 
           
          On the way 
          between Balotra and Jalore which is about 15 kms far away, Third 
          Brahma Temple of India is situated in the village of Asotra. Very 
          Popular Shrine of Rani Bhatiyaniji is also situated nearby Balotra in 
          the village of Jasol which is only 5 kms far away from Balotra. 
          Well-known Jain Temple Nakoda is situated about 12 km from Balotra. On 
          the way between Balotra and Barmer which are at a distance of about 10 
          kms from each other there is a very old shrine of Lord Shri Vishnu 
          which is known as Shri Ranchore Ray, Khed Mandir situated in the 
          village of Khed. In the earlier times Khed was the capital of the 
          Rathores of western Rajasthan, whose control extended over the whole 
          area. At the commencement of the 13th century the Rathore king Rao 
          Sihaji the founder of the Rathore clan together with his son (Asthanji) 
          taken over Khed from the Guhil Rajputs. Devotees from all over India, 
          come to Balotra to visit the sacred places near Balotra.  
          
          Balotra is 
          home a large number of textile units and is situated along the coast 
          of the Luni River. Balotra is located at 25.83°N 72.23°E. It has an 
          average altitude of 347 feet  metres. Balotra is home to a large

           Balotra was founded by Vala Ji or Bala Ji Rajpurohit. The name of 
          Balotra is taken from the name of Bala Ji Rajpurohit. Initially, it 
          was a small settlement but afterwards it was converted into a village 
          and finally into a town. The town of Balotra is well-known for housing 
          and also for Shrine of Nagoda Jain. It is one of the most popular 
          pilgrimage spot for the Jain clan. The temple is a perfect example of 
          superior architecture and the interior of the temple is decorated with 
          many statues which make it very beautiful.  
          
          Other 
          temples which are situated in the Balotra are Rani Bhatiyaniji Shrine, 
          Chonch Temple, Mohanraj ji Temple, Jaanraaj Ji Temple, Hanuman Temple, 
          Khed Temple and Narsingh Ji Temple. The historical town of Balotra has 
          become known as an important and developing town in western Rajasthan 
          with steadily changing time. Many colleges, modern factories, good 
          transportation system, high standard of living, global connectivity 
          and sky-kissing buildings give it a view of some metropolitan feel.
