Ladakh is situated in the Northern part of India
at an altitude of 3500 m making this the highest inhabited region in India.
The River Indus and its tributaries slice their way through the mountain range
of Ladakh. The land of Ladakh is bounded by the Great Himalayas in the Karakoram ranges
and gifted with high mountain, valleys, lakes and beautiful ancient Buddhist monasteries.

Day 01: New Delhi
Around midnight arrival in New Delhi. New Delhi is the cosmopolitan city and capital of India, is also the main gateway for travellers. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

02: New Delhi - Leh (by
air)
In the morning transfer to the airport to board flight for Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Arrival in Leh in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel. Due to its altitude (3500 m) Ladakh is known as the roof of the world. Leh was an important place in the historical times on the silk road to central Asia. The rest of the day is at leisure to acclaim
yourself to this high altitude of Leh.

03: Leh
Excursion (Thikse, Shey, Hemis)
Today we start our excursion by visiting the monastery of Thikse. Thikse is one of the most imposing monastery in Ladakh. The monastery has 12 stories, 10 temples, a nunnery and 60 lamas in residence. It contains numerous stupas, statues, tankhas, wall painting and a large pillar engraved with the teaching of Buddha. We can also see here a collection of Tibetan scripts. After the visit of Thikse we visit the village of Shey on the eastern bank of the Indus. Shey was the royal residence and was located at an important vantage point in the Indus valley. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan kings. A 7.5 metre high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here.

04: Leh - Likir
From Leh, we will drive to Likir to start our trek. Likir contains the ruins of a Buddhist citadel impressively sited on a spur overlooking the Indus Valley. It served as a royal residence for several periods between 15th and 17th centuries.

05: Likir - Yangthang - Rizong
Today we will start our trek from Likir to Rizong. The trek will seldom goes higher than 4000 m as we walk through a stunning green oasis of Indus valley inhabited by the Ladakhi people with their unique ancient culture and customs. When we will reach Yangthang we will have rest here. After having rest we will move further to Rizong. Overnight stay in
Rizong.
Day
06: Rizong - Themisgam - Khalsi - Lamayuru
In the morning after having breakfast we will start our trek from Rizong to Khalsi. Enroute we have a stop at Themisgam. We pass through the breathtaking canyons and enjoy the views of pastel colored mountains with snow covered peaks. When we will reach Khalsi we will have rest here. After having rest we will move further to Lamayuru. Overnight stay
in Lamayuru.

07: Lamayuru - Wanla - Urshi - Tar La
In the morning after having breakfast we will start our trek from Lamayuru to Urshi. Enroute we have a stop at Wanla. We pass through the desert landscape. Surrounded by hard arid desert landscape, one is amazed to see this sudden fertile area with an abundance of fruit and nut orchards. This trek will be a very less traveled route, high over mountain ranges lining the Indus valley and heading to Tar La
(5250 m). Overnight stay in Tar La.

08: Tar
La - Mangyu - Alchi
In the morning after having breakfast we will start our trek from Tar La to Alchi. Enroute we have a stop at Mangyu. This region of high passes and mighty peaks is softened by the immense charm of the Ladakhi villages, its people and the beautiful view of the Ladakh and Zanskar mountain ranges. Our trek will now end near the famous Alchi monastery. On the banks of the Indus river, is the Alchi Gompa dating a thousand years back. One of its walls features thousands of miniature sized pictures of the Buddha.

09: Alchi - Leh
Today we will drive from Alchi to Leh. After having a tiresome trekking through the region of Ladakh we will have a rest upon arrival in Leh.

10: Leh - New Delhi
(by air)
In the morning after having breakfast we will drive to the airport to board the flight to New Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel. Rooms are available to get refresh. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day
11: New Delhi
Around midnight flight to home destination.
