 Heritage Walking Tour of Amber

Heritage Walking Tour of Amber

Earlier Amber was the capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries before it was moved to newly created Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. Structures belonging to 16th century onwards are present in the Amber fort in a very wonderful position, but structures belonging to early centuries have disappeared or damaged from the Fort.

Amber Palace is a very prominent tourist attraction of Jaipur and is surely visited by tourists, but very few people gets opportunity to explore the beautiful and scenic town of Amber and observe its rich tradition and custom.

Join us on a interesting heritage walking tour to experience the jewels of the ancient town of Amber. This tour covers some old structures, historic temples and a marvelous textile museum.

Important  Highlights of the Tour

Ambikeshwar Temple - Ambikeshwar Temple is a very old temple of Shiva, older than Amber Fort.  As per a famous myth the Shiva Linga is sinking deeper into the ground every year, a fact which is still a mystery

Narsingh Haveli -  Narsingh Haveli is one of the remarkable Havelis of this ancient town which is now modernized very wonderfully to bring it back of its original glory.

Jagat Shiromani Shrine - It is a 16th century shrine which is devoted to lord Krishna, this temple is adorned with beautiful statues of God and Goddesses from Hindu mythology. This temple is a hidden place of jaipur and very rarely visited by tourists. The temple was founded in the year 1601 by queen Kanakawati in memorial of her beloved son Maharaja Kumar Jagat Singhji. This temple has an architectural design of south Indian style.

Anokhi Museum of Hand printing - It is located in a wonderfully renovated hall from the 16th century. This museum exhibits a large collection of traditional and contemporary textiles which were prepared by using a variety of different techniques.

Panna Miah Kund - Panna Miah Kund is a fabulous example of traditional step well which was founded by one of Jai Singh’s eunuchs.
